If anything you ever read by me, let this be. It is my third article with EBONY Magazine on their site EBONY.com. This particular piece is extremely important to me as I had initially worked to do a reaction piece in response to the verdict of George Zimmerman. I had spoken with the fellas/founders of a group called Lifting as We Climb, that is co-located in D.C. and in Detroit, and from there the conversation took on a form of its on.
I wondered what would Tracy Martin, Trayvon Martin’s father would have to say, especially in light of all of the commentary and spin that has taken place and strayed from the main point; a kid was murdered… a kid that was racially profiled.  I was able to speak with Mr. Martin. In fact, I’m the first journalist he has spoken to directly since the trial. His comments for me would validate and set the tone for what we SHOULD be talking about in the aftermath of the verdict.
Please take a moment to read on what Mr. Martin has to say.
As always I thank you for every ounce of support you’ve shown in this journey with me.
