Thanks to Monarch Magazine I have a small feature in their current summer issue (with actress Tamera Mowry on the cover). My article is featured in their Break Room section in which I discuss healthy eating with Chef Tianna Feaster and Carlisa Brown-McCain, a vegetarian. Though not an in-depth article, it does address that we, African-Americans, have work to do when it comes to making healthier eating choices. First things first, we have to drop the fear or assumption that “healthy food” means “tasteless food”.
Not only is my article in print, but it is currently featured on Monarch’s website. If you are looking to purchase the magazine, for DC area folks, the magazine is available at the Barnes and Nobles in Union Station. All others, either hit up the website for the digital version or check your local Barnes and Nobles.
This is my first article for Monarch and I look forward to writing others.
Monarch Magazine – Break Room: Getting to Healthy By Tiffany E. Browne.
Enjoy!

Congratulations! Are copies available in New York? I’m so happy for you. This is so wonderful! Great minds think alike. Last week I posted a blog on my Wheatgrass search and the dichotomy between foods sold in Black neighborhoods and those sold or available in white neighborhoods. I’m slowly embracing the veggie lifestyle. Pretty much I’ve lost my taste for meat. And yes I agree with you there are some very tasty ways to cook our food and we should not be afraid to try new foods. Asparagus is very tasty! Way to Go Sis!!

Thanks Deborah! 🙂 I’m not sure where in New York you can find it. The publisher is based here in DC and I know he’s cutting back on print a bit. For a while I think Barnes and Nobles was the main carrier. Still is I think, but only certain ones. If I can find out, I will!
